The Dale Earhardt Foundation (Legend Leadership Award)
Do you have a solution that can impact your world?This is a chance for those that see problems, but never had a way to voice them, to bring awareness to an issue in addition to a solution. Exemplifying leadership qualities by identifying a problem and offering a solution are the qualities the Foundation is searching for in award winners.
An Idea is all it takes to win $7,000 in Scholarships, a trophy, and a chance to make a difference.To enter, participants must identify need or problem in their community and have a creative solution to address the issue and/or are actively working to address the need or problem. This solution does not have to be already in place or in action. How To Enter
The trophy.The cash award will be in the form of a grant to an individual winner, and is restricted for the educational support and/or tuition assistance of the individual winner, or a member of their immediate family. Each winner will also receive a signature trophy and have their names prominently displayed at Dale Earnhardt, Inc. for the following year.

UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI (George W. Jenkins Scholarship)
This prestigious scholarship is awarded to three high school graduates who have overcome significant adversity to achieve academic excellence.
The Scholarship award covers the full cost of attendance. It is valued at more than $62,000 for the 2016-2017 academic year and more than &250, 000 over four years.
All required materials are available at miami.edu/jenkins and must be submitted by December 1, 2016. The 2016-2017 Jenkins Scholars will be announced by April 1. 2017.

Jefferson Scholars Foundation
The Jefferson Scholarship is a merit-based, fully -funded scholarships to the University of Virginia worth more than &120, 000 for Virginians and $240, 000 for non-Virginians.
In addition to the financial award, the Jefferson Scholarship offers a variety of enrichment experiences for every scholar, including a six-week foreign travel experience and internship opportunites with thier alumni network.

Cooke College Scholarship
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies.
Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships he or she may receive.
This highly competitive scholarship includes:
Selection ProcessA rigorous application review includes analysis of grades, standardized test scores, participation in available advanced courses, student essays, letters of recommendation, and family finances. Each year 30-40 students will be selected into the program.

WTS Transportation YOU High School Scholarship
WTS fosters the development of women and girls in the transportation field by encouraging bright new professionals and students to undertake careers in the area of transportation. One way it does this is by awarding the WTS Transportation YOU High School Scholarship to girls pursuing high school studies in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Transportation YOU is a hands-on, interactive, mentoring program that offers young girls ages 13-18 an introduction to a wide variety of transportation careers. Through the Transportation YOU program and this scholarship, WTS chapters work to make a difference in the lives of young girls by offering opportunities and activities that will spark their interest in all modes of transportation and encourage them to take courses in math, science, and technology, which are the stepping stones to exciting careers that can change the face of the transportation industry.
The WTS Transportation YOU High School Scholarship is $1,000. The minimum criteria for selection are:
Applicant must be a high school senior.
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Currently studying math, science, and technology.
Considering a college degree in a transportation-related field
Applications must be submitted through local WTS chapters as typed Word documents. Scholarships are competitive and based on the applicant's specific transportation goals, academic record, and transportation-related activities or job skills. National awards will be presented during the WTS Annual Conference on May 18, 2017, and attendance at the awards dinner is strongly recommended.

DAR GOOD CITIZENS program and scholarship contest are interested in students who show dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including history, law, nursing, and education.The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of race, religion or sex. All applicants must be United States citizens. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States
DAR Good Citizens who enter the scholarship contest are eligible for the awards beyond the chapter level. Each state winner receives an award in the amount of at least $250 and a special DAR Good Citizens pin and certificate. Each of the eight national division winners will receive a cash award in the amount of $500. Two national winners will be invited to Washington, DC to attend Continental Congress and will be awarded $5,000 scholarships, inscribed silver bowl and certificate.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Award program is the United States' largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. Created in 1995 by Prudential and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the program honors middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level.
Thus far, it has recognized more than 115,000 young people who've made a difference - and inspired countless others to consider how they might contribute to their communities.
The Spirit of Community Awards program also honors youth volunteers in countries outside the U.S. where Prudential has a significant presence: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Ireland, India, China and Brazil.
To be eligible, you must:
Distinguished Finalists receive an engraved bronze medallion, and other state-level runners-up receive Certificates of Excellence.
State Honorees receive an award of $1,000, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C., for national recognition events.
National Honorees receive an additional award of $5,000, an engraved gold medallion, a crystal trophy for their schools or nominating organizations, and a $5,000 grant from The Prudential Foundation for a nonprofit charitable organization of their choice.

Levine Scholars Program The Levine Scholarships carry a high honor, one that bestows tremendous opportunities and assumes high expectations of its recipients – as students, as leaders within the University, and as citizens of the greater global community. No matter what their interests, Scholars find campus and community partners eager to embrace their contributions and enhance their education through hands-on experiences. To complement classroom learning, Levine Scholars participate in rich and varied opportunities in the vibrant commercial and cultural center of Charlotte. After four years of study, Scholars graduate fully prepared for a life of learning, service and leadership in their chosen field.
Students must be nominated online by their high school counselor at their current high school. Nominations must be received by October 15th. Completed applications are due by November 1st.
Successful candidates will have a grade point average of 3.8-4.0 and 29-36 on the ACT composite.
Army ROTC Scholarships process is the largest merit based scholarship program in the United States. Some key information from last year’s selection process: 69% of winners were in the top 25% of their class; 55% were in the National Honor Society; 76% were varsity letter athletes and 59% were varsity team captains. Only 28% of recipients were involved with JROTC, demonstrating the scholarship’s applicability to a wide population of well performing students.
The benefits of the Army ROTC scholarship are:
* Full Tuition and fees OR Room and Board
*Book allowance- $1200 a year
*Monthly Stipend:
Freshman-$300
Sophomores- $350
Junior -$450
Senior-$500
*Travel reimbursement from home to college (once)
*No commitment through the first year (as either a 4 year or 3 year winner). Students can thus walk away with no financial penalty if they feel the program is not right for them.

The basic requirements (obviously higher academic scores are more competitive) are:

The process:
An internet search provider is the easiest way to find the Army ROTC scholarship page on GoArmy.com. Once there, there’s a ton of information about the program to include information and links to all of the host programs. http://www.goarmy.com/rotc/find-schools.html
A student sets up an account and initiates the process. The application involves the collection of administrative data and the uploading of transcripts. The high school is asked to verify class standing and an athletic coach or ROTC instructor is asked to conduct a physical fitness assessment. There is no charge associated with the application.
A prospect applies online June (after junior year) – January (of their senior year). As part of the application process, they interview with a university Professor of Military Science as their last step in the application process.
Cadet Command conducts 3 scholarship boards which correspond with October to March of a student’s senior year. Deadlines for this year are:

The Command mails letters to scholarship winners with selected school choices and an offer letter. The winner has thirty days to accept the offer and their school of choice (if they have more than one offer).
The Park Scholarship Scholarship Program with NC State University is a four-year scholarship given to students based on outstanding accomplishments, and potential in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. This scholarship is Four-year scholarship valued at $92,000 in-state and $149,000 out-of-state that includes tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, travel, and personal expenses. Students are to be nominated by their high school. Please see Ms. Pichey to be considered for nomination.
The John Montgomery Belk Scholarship Full scholarship (tuition, fees, room and board) to attend Davidson College. It is one of our nations’ most prestigious and generous undergraduate scholarships. Students interested in applying for this scholarship must receive a nomination from their current high school. Please see your counselor to learn more about the nomination and application process.
UNC Chapel Hill Morehead-Cain Scholarship:
If you are interested in being nominated from Olympic High School, you must complete a preliminary application and participate in an interview process. There will be one nominee from each of Olympic’s five schools. Please note that this scholarship application is an on-line process and can be accessed at http://www.moreheadcain.org/ The award includes 4 years of tuition and expenses as well as a full funded summer enrichment program, a laptop computer, and leadership experiences. (Note-you may also self-nominate for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship.

- Demonstrate significant unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. However, we anticipate that a majority of scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive a Pell grant
